We are pleased to announce several events of the seventh edition of the Blind Date Convention, a central event dedicated to promoting, producing, and popularizing Artist Books and art publications.

On this occasion, we are happy to inform you about the award for the best Artist Book in Slovenia, the first of this kind in our country. Submission guidelines are as follows: We will consider the Artist Books published in Slovenia between 2019 and 2022. All genres and formats of the Artist Book will be considered. We understand the Artist Book broadly, as a work of art in the form of a book. An Artist Book can be submitted for consideration by an individual, an institution, an artist, an author, an artistic group, etc.

The submission must contain:

  • A copy of the proposed book.
  • Personal data of the author: name, surname, address, e-mail, telephone.
  • A short presentation of the author; maximum half-page A4.
  • A short description / concept of the proposed Artist Book; maximum one-page A4.

Only complete applications will be taken into consideration.

The public tender is open until and including 15 December 2022. The winning book will be announced by the jury on 22 December 2022 at the Artist Book and art publications fair in P74 Gallery.

The award-winner will receive a special promotion at international Artist Books fairs in which the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute participates, as well as support (by agreement) in producing a new Artist Book.

The submission and Artist Books are to be sent to the following address:
P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute, P74 Centre in Gallery, Trg Prekomorskih brigad 1, 1000 Ljubljana, with the following postscript on the envelope: For the Artist Book.

P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute does not return the Artist Books submitted for this open call; they remain stored in the archives of the P74 Centre and Gallery, or become part of the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute Artist Book Collection.
