Diane Christiansen and Shoshanna Utchenik
Notes to Nonself

installation

Collaborators Christiansen and Utchenik expand the small gallery into a fantastical landscape, metaphoric for the activity of the mind. Viewers are invited into a meditative garden, collaged with notes and drawings from the transatlantic correspondence between two artists navigating motherhood, marriage, careers, mortality and spirituality. Also on view is animation by Diane Christiansen, Shelly Dodson and Matt Marsden, with sound by Steve Dawson.

Shoshanna Utchenik
Becoming Slovenian

performative artist residency

Utchenik, an American married to a Slovene, will begin assembling a subjective guide to her own assimilation. She will move her studio to the KAPSULA gallery for the duration of the exhibition, to ask the public:

What must I do to become Slovenian?

Viewers are invited to bring instructive objects as well as ideas to the ongoing performance.

Becoming Slovenian will be performed during the exhibition at Monday-Friday, 9.00-14.30.
